What is a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner?

Let’s dig in!

An NTP focuses in on the 6 foundations to address dysfunction in the body and help clients create a bio-individuality nutrient plan to bring your body into balance and help you feel great!

Through a holistic approach we focus on nutrient dense foods (food first), to nourish your body and incorporate supplements when needed. There is no one diet fits all, we are all different, live different lifestyles and genetics that make us unique.

Did you know that symptoms of acid reflux, acne, bloating, diarrhea, constipation, anxiety, depression, PMS symptoms are all very “normal” but they are actually very common not “normal”. This is our body telling us that something is off and we should find the root of the issue. That is where a NTP helps dig deep into the root cause

We focus on the 6 foundations of health:

  1. Nutrient dense diet

  2. Digestion & Elimination

  3. Blood Sugar Regulation

  4. Fatty Acid Balance

  5. Mineral Balance

  6. Hydration

Through these foundations NTPs develop with their clients a plan of action to get you feeling back on track. As an NTP, I focus in on you as a whole. I am not just focused in on what you put into your mouth. I am focused in on what happens before, during and after eating. This will put the full picture together to better understand you!

My main focus are helping women with gut healing, adrenal support, blood sugar regulation and hormone balance. We can accomplish this together with the focus on nutrients we consume, stress management, daily movement, and quality sleep.

*Reminder, NTPs are not doctors and cannot diagnosis but we can work with doctors to help manage symptoms. Doctors go through a hell of a lot of training but the one piece of knowledge is they do not focus on nutrition and someones bio-individuality. They do not have the time to dig deep into your daily life to understand what might be happening outside of their tests. I strongly believe NTPs are what the healthcare system is missing and they can be a strong ally with your doctor.

6 Foundations of Nutritional Therapy

NUTRIENT DENSE FOOD Consuming nutrient-dense whole-foods, properly prepared. We focus in on eating quality foods and reading the labels to better understand our foods and where they come from. Simple, real food!

FATTY ACID BALANCE Let’s forget about the whole fat=bad, the myth we were learned growing up! Healthy fats are key for our body to function properly. They fuel us and give us the long lasting energy our body needs while keeping us full and satisfied after meals. Fats are key for balancing out our bodies hormones. We will dive into quality fats and get rid of those processed seed oil fats.

DIGESTION & ELIMINATION — Our stomachs are our second brain and control just about everything! Typically any symptom you experience links back to your gut! You are what you eat. It is key to have a BM each day to elimatine any toxins from the body. We don’t want those toxins recirculating!

MINERAL BALANCE — Minerals are key to our bodies functioning properly as they support our whole body. We will take a peak on where we can support the body by adding in more minerals. Minerals are the spark plugs for our body. Everyday toxins deplete our minerals and its key to replenish these for our body!

BLOOD SUGAR REGULATION — Afternoon crashes, headaches, mood swings, hangry, etc? These are all key signs of blood sugar symptoms. Let’s address this so we can have increased stable energy, managed stress, improved sleep, balance hormones, and more happy!

HYDRATION — Water = most important thing we put into our bodies! We are made up of water. We need to be properly hydrating for everything in our body to work and function properly. But are we drinking clean water? Are we retaining the water? There’s more to drinking water for proper hydration.

let’s focus on nutrient dense food, quality supplements, reducing stress, daily movement, and quality sleep!
